Perform clerical duties including typing, photocopying, scanning, shredding of non-sensitive materials and occasionally faxing. Some occasional heavy lifting may also be required.
Run campus errands to include, but not limited to retrieving books, DVDs or other material from the library; delivering packages or other material in other campus buildings.
Post flyers announcing upcoming department events and remove them after the event.
Assist in answering the telephone and directing the call to appropriate department(s) or faculty in the absence of the supervisor.
Transfer telephone calls to appropriate personnel or record appropriate message.
Retrieve mail and/or packages from mail room and post office.
Be cordial and appropriate to students, faculty, staff and visitors entering the office. Always offer assistance to others.
Assist students, faculty, staff and visitors conducting business in the office.
Communicate with the supervisor by email or phone during work time absences.
Willingness to tackle new projects.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor or/and other members of the department.
